Living in Dhaka means living in a fast-paced city full of noise, traffic, and constant movement. As a Software Developer, my weekdays are mostly spent in front of a computer screen — solving problems, writing code, and meeting deadlines. So, when Friday comes, I always try to find some time to refresh my mind. This week, I chose to visit one of the most beautiful places in Dhaka – Hatir Jheel.
Hatir Jheel is not just a lake; it’s one of Dhaka’s most iconic modern projects that combines urban development with natural beauty. Located right in the heart of the city, it connects several important areas like Gulshan, Badda, Rampura, and Tejgaon. The place is clean, calm, and offers a rare sense of openness that you don’t often find in Dhaka.
I reached Hatir Jheel in the afternoon when the sunlight was soft and golden. The first thing that caught my attention was the cool breeze blowing over the lake and the reflection of the blue sky on the water. The air felt fresh, and the environment had a peaceful rhythm — a perfect escape from the busy city life.
There were families enjoying the view, couples walking hand in hand, and kids laughing while running along the walkway. I sat on one of the benches and watched boats move slowly across the water. The city felt different from there — quieter, calmer, and more alive in a simple way.
As the sun started to set, the view became even more magical. The bridges around the lake began to light up, and the colorful reflections created a stunning scene. The combination of soft music from nearby cafes, the sound of water, and the night lights made the place look almost cinematic.
“Sometimes, peace doesn’t require leaving the city; it just needs the right place and the right mindset.”
I walked along the bridge for a while, watching the night view of the city. It’s amazing how Hatir Jheel manages to offer both nature and modernity together. Whether you’re a student, a professional, or someone who simply loves quiet moments — this place has something to offer you.
What impressed me the most was how well-maintained the area is. The roads are clean, the security is good, and there are seating areas, coffee shops, and even boat rides available. You can easily spend hours here without realizing how quickly time passes.
Visiting Hatir Jheel reminded me that even in a busy city like Dhaka, we can still find peaceful corners that allow us to breathe and think. It’s the perfect place to unwind, reflect, and recharge before getting back to work.
As I left that night, the lights reflected beautifully on the lake surface, and I felt grateful — grateful for the moment, for the calm, and for having a place like Hatir Jheel so close to home.
